Welcome to Insulter. I wrote this program as lately more and more people on
the newsgroups and in email are being far from civil. And I so hate wasting
time on counter insults. I'd much rather have Amy do that for me. *grin* So
this resulted in 'Insulter' A tiny program that creates random insults that
are even fun to read. It handles both contemporary form as well as classic
form. Like old Shakespearian types of insults. Insulter has an easy to use
tandard Amiga GUI and requires no 3rd party libraries. All that's needed is
for you to select the 'insult mode' and click on the 'Insult!' button. Then
a random insult is generated in the string gadget at the bottom part of the
window. I picked a string gadget as it is very easy to select it's contents
and copy and paste those into another application. All that is needed is to
click 'Right Amiga - B" to start a block, use the mouse to select the whole
insult and then 'Right Amiga C' to copy it and finally 'Right Amiga - V' to
paste it somewhere. Of course the program has an extensive ARexx host that
allows you to select the mode and retrive insults via ARexx. So it is very
easy to integrate Insulter with a mailer, newsreader, web-browser or editor
that has decent ARexx support. This program is also font sensitive and does
even support 'speech'. Archieved by standard gadtools programming.
Features:
- Small (less than 25K)
- Standard GadTools GUI. No 3rd party libraries needed.
- Can be minimized to a user-definable position.
- Uses system deafult font unless otherwise setup by the user.
- Font/size sensitive GUI. (will only accept fixed width fonts!)
- Window position, minimize position and Publicscreen definable at startup
via ToolTypes (see icon) or CLI parameters. Type 'Insulter ?'.
- Extensive ARexx host allowing for window manipulation and retrieval of
insults. As well as setting insult mode.
- has a 'contemporary' and a 'classic' insult mode.
- Has support for AmigaDOS 'speech' to speak insults as well as display.
