INTRO

After a two year hiatus I decided to improve one of my most popular objects for Imagine, the Amiga
4000 in Commodore desktop flavor. Actually, this is one of my favourite Amiga design immediately
after the glorious 3000. However, since the model was already very complex there were nothing much to
do. This new version allow renderers to choose their favourite version of the Amiga 4000: the full
grown 4000/040, the little brother 4000/030 and the rare 4000/EC030.
Everything has been modeled and edited on an Amiga 1200/030 including the renderings that you will
find in the package. Enjoy!

CHANGELOG V2.5

- Fixed minor bug in the lower side
- Added brushes for the various A4000 incarnations

CHANGELOG V2.0

- Added rear panel
- Added PSU
- Added Ports and labels
- Modified rear case

THE PACKAGE

The package contains:

- Amiga4000D.iob The object itself for Imagine
- A4000Diob.readme It's what you're reading now
- \Brushes\68030badge.iff Brush for the A4000/030
- \Brushes\68040badge.iff Brush for the A4000/040
- \Brushes\68EC030badge.iff Brush for the A4000/EC030
- \Pics\ Folder with my Amiga 4000 Renderings

REQUIREMENTS

It's all about power. This object features a lot of details, especially in the rear part. For this
reason if you don't want to wait for many hours, I suggest you to use a fast Amiga with at least
68030 and 68882 both at 33MHz. There's one trick to improve rendering times an that is about getting
the rid of the rear part if you want to render just the front side. You can select all the connectors
and ports in the back, delete them and, for sure, rendering time and memory requests will improve.
However, if you're a purist like me, get ready to have at least 16Megs of Fast RAM installed and wait
for many hours even if you're running an above combo at 50MHz. 68040 is strongly suggested.

INSTALLATION

The object itself doesn't need to be in a particular folder, so just put it in the folder you
prefere, however when it comes to rendering you have to find the object named BADGEBAY and remap the
brush named "Badge" to the Amiga 4000 badge you want to use. You will find those brushes in the
"Brushes" folder of this package.

- Map 68030badge.iff for the Amiga 4000/030
- Map 68040badge.iff for the Amiga 4000/040
- Map 68EC030badge.iff for the Amiga 4000/EC030

Plus there are leds you can modify for various effects:

- PWRLED the power led object
- HDDLED the hard disk led object
- FDDLED the floppy drive led object

If you set the colors at R,G,B 0,0,0 and the Brightness at 0,0,0 you will have turned off leds like
when the Amiga 4000 is turned off. If you leave the colors the way they are and you adjust brightness
between 0 and 255 you will have the blinking led effect.

COPYRIGHT

You are free to use this object for all the renderings you want. I will be happy if I made your day
and if I was able to bring you back to the Amiga Rendering world because, here, I feel like I am the
last Amiga Ray Tracer and this computer still have something to say for retro renderings.
The only thing I ask you is to don't upload this file to different places other than Aminet and its
own mirrors. Aminet is the only Amiga PD Repository, for me, and I want my objects to stay only here.

Have a good one, and happy renderings.
