MetaTool is a fully fledged Mail program, supporting:
· Full MIME intergration:
- Full Compose and Display.
- Amiga Datatypes based file recognition.
- Standard mailcap file configuration.
- Internal Partial Message Support.
· Comprehensive Multithreaded operation:
- Multiple Mailboxes concurrently.
- Multiple Compose windows concurrently.
- Multiple Part Editing/Viewing concurrently.

· Amazingly quick mailbox reading:
- Index file generation saves scanning the whole
mailbox every time it is accessed.
- Smart algorithm ensures that index file is always up-to-date,
even if you've edited the mailbox by hand.
· Changes for 40.5:
- Even faster operation!
- Outgoing Mail Archiving implemented.
- Open Other... menu option allows any mailbox on disk to be opened.
- Auto Update (new mail notification) implemented.
- Auto Purge Deleted option purges deleted mail on exit.
- Option to use only PROGDIR: and HOME: for mailcap and mime.types etc.
- More configurability for usage of ENV: vars in headers.
- Settings Panel Redesigned with MUI help bubbles.
- Compose Window redesign with Header now appearing in Content-Type
panel.
